Well, we got her to the Birthing Center before the roads froze and then went back home to await the news. I went about my morning as usual. Signed onto the internet to check my mail, checked my Etsy shop stats and Facebook. And.... What was that!!! A picture of one of MY items on the Polymer Clay Daily Facebook page!!!! What!!!
OH MY GOSH!!! One of my secret dreams had come true!!! I was the featured artist that day!
Just as I was excitedly calling my husband to "LOOK!!!" the power flickered out! And it didn't come back on for 15 hours..... No internet, no heat, no land line and a cell phone with a battery about to die. What a long day it was....waiting....patiently waiting.....But by mid-afternoon we received the news. My husband and I were the grandparents of a healthy baby girl.
And as for my 15 minutes of fame, well my Facebook fans grew throughout the day, my Etsy shop had record views, I sold a couple of items and all in all I felt like I was a star. So although the weather was less than ideal and I felt cut off from the rest of the world, it turned out to be a fantastic day!!!
This is the item that was featured in honor of Valentine's Day |
Our beautiful granddaughter, Ember Sage |
Take a look at the Polymer Clay Daily blog post. And if you're interested in the polymer clay community you should follow along. Cynthia does a great job introducing the world to all things polymer clay. Of course I'm a huge fan!
